Ductless fume cupboards are a cost-effective fume extraction solution, thanks to the lack of ductwork needed for installation. Their portability grants easy access to restricted areas and simplifies cabinet repositioning. It's a practical plug & play solution that removes the need for specialist installation engineers, saving you time and money.
Each cabinet is equipped with HEPA or carbon-based filters that capture toxic fumes, gases, dust and particulates generated during the scientific process. Unlike ducted models, the range is designed to recirculate air back into the lab, reducing the environmental impact associated with atmospheric ventilation.
We manufacture our ductless fume hoods using 100% virgin medical-grade welded polypropylene, which includes the internal & external carcass. This lightweight & durable material contains natural, corrosion-resistant properties that prevent the spread of rust inside your laboratory. This removes the need for toxic powder coatings and increases the life expectancy of a TION cabinet by up to 10 years.
Should a fault occur, TION also offers professional servicing & maintenance contracts over a one, two or three-year period. We independently test and certify our ductless fume cupboards to ensure your cabinets are fully functional 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Lighting is an important part of your fume cupboard specification. Our energy-efficient 800 LUX LED lights provide excellent clarity and last longer than older fluorescent tubes.
We often get asked about the practicality of manufacturing our fume cupboards from polypropylene, but the answer is surprisingly straightforward. The material is simple to maintain and clean. It's also mechanically rugged and features a high chemical resistance when compared with other metals and plastics.

We use two main types of control panel for our recirculating fume hoods:
1. Our standard touch panel which allows the lights, fan speed, sockets to be adjusted. This versatile unit is straightforward which allows users to get up and running with very little or no training. If we use this control panel a separate low airflow alarm is fitted for safety and to comply with the European certification requirements.
2. VAV 9” Touch Screen. This touchscreen control panel controls everything from the set point of the face velocity to the calibration of the alarm. The control panel will also display the current face velocity at all times. This unit allows the user to be in total control of the cupboard settings. If a solvent alarm is fitted to the unit the set point and alarm is also integrated into this control panel. When this unit is fitted, the cupboard also has Variable Air Volume which means that a set face velocity can be set and the fan will speed increase or decrease as the sash is opened and closed to keep the air velocity constant. This ensures safety and compliance while increasing the efficiency and longevity of the cupboard.

There are many safety features that can be built into the design of our ductless cupboards. These include low air flow alarms (both visual and audio), VAV (Variable air volume) systems to ensure constant face velocity and other systems such as fire suppression and fire collars can be installed to maintain a safe working environment.
